Of the many things that have inspired me over the summer, the three hand crocheted lions of The Lionheart Project are definitely up there:
The Lions resided in Orton Square in Leicester at the end of June and into the start of July. I visited them one sunny Sunday afternoon (well more accurately, as it turned out, about 45 minutes before a huge thunderstorm). The bright sunshine on the glass casing allowed me to capture some reflections that made the lions appear as if they were emerging from the buildings that surrounded them:
To give you an idea of the actual scale, the lions were hand crocheted byShauna Richardson from 36 miles of yarn! They certainly more than held their own against the imposing façade of Curve theatre. A timely reminder of what can be achieved by committing to your craft.
