Well I have spectacularly failed to provide more regular posts – bad times. However, in yet another period of blogging absence, I have started painting again in earnest – good times!
I have been considering how best to reconnect with this blog moving forward, and have resolved to aim for short and frequent posts. The current idea is that primarily these will be to share places and things that have inspired me, but also to pose questions about my own work.
There will also be news and sharing of my own work of course, but for a more comprehensive update on my studio practice (and works in progress) please feel free to ‘like’ my Facebook page Adam Brant - visual artist. I have been developing the way that I use this page as well so hopefully it will become a more interactive resource.
I find social media a great way of interacting with other creative-types to share and discuss ideas and work. However, it can also be a bit of distraction from actually creating the artwork (procrastination is, I believe, the blessing and curse of the creative).
In the interim, whilst all of these plans are hopefully *finally* put into action, here is a painting that I completed for my niece’s birthday way back in the spring:
Footballs Acrylic on canvas 2012
My niece requested a football painting for her birthday to decorate her new bedroom – the pink background was my concession to making it vaguely ‘girly’. Each football is from a different period of time – a (very) brief history of football design.
Looking forward to getting back into the blogging-sphere to share with you what I have been up to in my absence (and beyond)…
